The Case for Our Work

Our work lives in the advancement of solutions that consider students from low-income backgrounds, as well as system leaders who hold equity as a priority in their districts. It is in ensuring availability of sufficient funding and that financing the next generation’s future through education is seen as a responsibility rather than an option. In order to close the opportunity gaps occurring disproportionately across low-income communities, it is necessary to ensure that sufficient funding is made available to children with the greatest need.

MOAF STRATEGIES

 ADVOCACY

MOAF engages in a range of programs designed to attack the root cause of educational inequalities by strengthening the capacity of advocates and policy makers.

 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

MOAF subscribes to the belief that advancing equity in education requires a constellation of bold leaders who are equipped with the perspective, skills, understanding, and confidence necessary to navigate the complex landscape of public education and the inherent challenges of educational inequality.

Therefore, MOAF offers practitioner-informed, research-based learning opportunities for teachers across the continuum. This is designed to grow their capacities to lead for equity in education and ensure deeper learning outcomes for every child regardless of background.

RESEARCH & POLICY

Through our research, MOAF endeavours to provide the field with a well-thought-out analysis of key issues and the timely dissemination of solutions that offer the greatest impact for students. We shall encourage policymakers to use empirical research to support innovation and creativity in education that is just, and equity centered.
